dave goldman, md of sydney’s renowned goldman travel, shares his sentimental side and love of travel with bird and knoll
tanzanian wedding bracelet – a few years ago I was in tanzania and visited an authentic maasai village. after meeting a wonderful family, they took me into their home (boma) and gave me a beautiful handmade bracelet. it is full of interesting coloured beads and encompasses (to me) everything that this country offers. turns out that it was one of the elders wedding bracelets and he gave it to me as a special gesture. this makes it even more special.
pharrel williams – the quintessential style icon he can rock casual and formal, with equal effortlessness. justin timberlake and justin doss (GQ fashion editor US) also possess similar style … very cool, very enviable, i am hopeful my style is similar.
new york city – for me , new york has it all. fashion, food and a veritable melting pot of culture and art. it’s like returning back to a familiar friend who always has a lot to talk about. does that make sense? exciting + cheeky + fun + cool hotels = nyc.
todd english food court – the plaza hotel nyc – whenever I need a quick bite to eat (and haven’t made the mandatory reservation) this is the place I go. a quick and delicious sushi fix and guaranteed fantastic conversation always complete a great day of hotel inspections in nyc.
inspecting hotels – a major interest of mine, it combines work with something i really enjoy doing. i have been lucky enough to inspect hotels of all standards all around the world. during a recent trip to nyc, i inspected 32 hotels in 7 days. i was like a kid in a candy store. i get a natural high when inspecting hotels for customers. there is nothing like giving first hand information on hotels that I have walked in, dined in, felt the linen … really experienced. experience is everything to me.
louis vuitton clip it cuff – this is a very sentimental piece as it was a gift from my beautiful wife when we were in nyc. it is strong, resilient and beautiful – just like her!
